THE IDEOLOGY
Whenever I undertake a project brief from editors, watch writers, or directly from watch brands on the type of timepieces to publish in watch stories, I believe it’s important for me to create supporting imagery with thoughtful narratives in addition to achieving aesthetic style. Each timepiece is special, and every watch brand has their own unique personality ( or rather a ‘brand-ailty’ ), expressions of style and target market. Understanding the watches I am conceptualising ideas for and the significance of it’s maison, is essential for creating meaningful visual content. Selecting the most suitable clothing, makeup style, watches and jewellery for each shot is also equally vital to create a successful, harmonious unison.
Anything and everything can be my source of inspiration for visual content creation, from fashion to design, art, cinema, world history and culture, there’s simply no limit. Depending on the shoot concepts, I would cast fashion models who can fit into the type of character we need specifically. The success of a fashion and watch photo shoot rely on the collaborative efforts between many aspects - creative direction, photography, styling, fashion model, retoucher, etc.
Here’s a selection of some of the fashion & watch photography works I have conceptualised and styled for, from the pages of Revolution USA, Revolution UK, Revolution Australia, Revolution Asia, Revolution Switzerland and webpage of Revolution Online.
